It’s probably a little lame

Posted by rivalblogger on February 28, 2010

Like half the world, last night I was enthralled by what was happening around Hawaii and the Pacific Islands as a mjaor tsunami hit land. I was following it on all the news sites and watching a number of the web-cams which had been set up in the hope that I would catch sight of a giant tidal wave smashing into land.

I followed it on Twitter, I had CNN and Sky websites going and yet as the minutes and hours ticked by I started looking for other ways to get news on what was coming – that included subscribing to a Twitter feed for a buoy situated off the Honolulu coast which was feeding back data about the size of the swells being generated.

Super geeky… and a real anti-climax but again technology gives a lot of options to people. Amazing stuff.
